What a lovely city. Pretty waterfront restaurants, framed by old wooden boats in cobbled streets and a happy vibe.
There are hardly any cars, everyone travels by bike. Apparently the taxes for car ownership almost double the price of a car.
It helped that the weather was gorgeous, and we spent the first afternoon riding on Segways with our guide Penny to tell us all about the history of the city. It was a lot of fun.
Back at the boat, we discovered a huge street food market nearby, and this became our go-to place for dinner each evening.
Across the canal, the tall spire of the Church of our Saviour beckoned, with its 400 step ascent, including outside the spire, to the most fabulous views of the city.
Though perhaps choosing the exact moment of the big bell chiming for the next service as we passed by was not the best for the ears!
After four days of wandering through the city, visiting museums and sitting outside little cafes with a good coffee and Danish pastry, we ended our stay, and agreed we must come back soon
So glad the voyage to Copenhagen with all its challenges ended in brilliant sunshine in that beautiful city, with the friendly Danes to help you along too. Super photos. Just a tad envious! But will weather hold as you head back to Augustenborg? Hope so. Rx
What lovely scenes from Copenhagen. I have always believed that all cities should be approached from the water rather than the congested roads. The peaceful scene of boats in harbour is truly restful, though of course voyages can be far from such luxury.
