In June, when the weather in the North West corner of Ireland has a chance to be fine, we set off for our annual cruise on the West Coast of Scotland, with a plan to undertake some refit work on Drama Queen, our Elan 31, now 12 years old.
It rained, incessantly, and we spent a lot of time in harbours and marinas, waiting for parts, experts, cranes, a break in the weather – you name it!
To pass the time, we looked at yachts for sale, and spoke to salesmen, thinking that this may be useful for the time in the future when we might think of changing our boat. Certainly not this year – after all we’d just changed the rigging and put in a new cooker.
Much time was idled away, narrowing our theoretical choice, reading reviews, micro-analysing YouTube videos and other such fantasy pastimes.

And how long did it take Karen to break the “Let’s not tell anyone yet” agreement?? About a week I think !
