The weather has been glorious now for weeks, and the best place to be is at anchor in a little bay, watching the sun set, and cooling off with a swim in the warm sea.
We spent two days off Femø doing just this, nipping out for a fun sail playing with the spinnaker and back again.
We have been tracking the progress of yacht ‘Prime 109’, a Malo 39, making her way down the East coast of Sweden, where she has just been bought by my sister’s friends Richard and Louise. Janice and Steven are on board, helping with the delivery trip as far as Augustenborg, where the boat will stay for the winter, in the next shed over from Melodrama.
They joined us in the bay on Sunday, having made it across to Denmark the previous day.
So we have had a few fun days cruising in company and sharing sundowners. After a final evening together, they made their last journey to Augustenborg, while we stayed on for another day in the pretty little town of Ærøskøbing.
I seem to think you mentioned one wet day – otherwise these illuminating blogs might never have got posted – but how great to have enjoyed super weather and cruise together with family and friends around such attractive and interesting places. Rx
What an Odyssey, without sea monsters but many fathoms and many, many sea miles! Thank you for the fascinating blog, and much love to you both. Hoping that the winds remain gentle but sufficient for your onward travel before you put your craft to bed for the winter months. Love to you both from Shirley and Richard
