What do they call a Danish Pastry in Denmark?

Blog Denmark 2020

Faaborg is a favourite to visit, a nice distance from which to plan the last days, and a very large and secure harbour in yet another charming Hanseatic town.

Where next?

There were forecasts for winds and rain for the next 4-5 days, but it was warm, and inbetween showers, we had a chance to make the most of our time. And Faaborg has a great chandlery, so a credit card was definitely necessary!

Dodging the rain on Sunday afternoon, we found ourselves standing outside a closed bakery, but there in front of us was the most amazing bun dispensing machine. A 20 krone coin in the slot, then choose from a selection of divine Danish Pastries.

They all look good!

We chose the ‘Icelandic’ which looked and tasted like a classic Danish to me! Delicious.

Afternoon tea on a wet Sunday has rarely been so good.
