Raducanu!

Blog Denmark 2021

Ærøskøbing harbour is next to a wonderful natural anchorage, with room for over 100 boats, and little bathing huts all along the sandy shore. It’s very pretty.

But in September, there were only four other boats. We took what was most likely our last swim from the boat, and cooked what was most likely our last barbecue on board too.

In the morning, we drove round the coast and into the main harbour.

Earlier in the trip we crammed into Ærøskøbing harbour, lucky to get a berth at 10am, and no chance of even a dribble of wi-fi.

Now the same harbour is almost empty and the wi-fi is amazing. So good that we discovered we could stream the US Open tennis championships live. So we booked ourselves an extra day and settled down on Saturday evening on the iPad to watch two outstanding young women battle it out in the Ladies Finals. What a match!

  1. Yes it was a fantastic match. I sat up to watch it too. We have all been making the most of the last days of summer here in Kent with wall to wall sunshine for the past 10 days or so. Today it feels as though we are back in Ireland with mild weather, grey skies and drizzle all day long! But maybe you can still have another swim off the boat?? Rxx

  2. Sounds like you two have made the most of your time in Danish waters and have discovered some amazing places. Hope the decommissioning is going well and covid will not restrict plans for next year…..

    1. Let’s all hope for that. We hope you are having fun getting to know Lady Mayfair and enjoying life in Barcelona xx
