It’s late September and we really should be back at Fahan.
The boat is back in Augustenborg marina, and we’ve spent the last four days scrubbing the decks, laundry, cleaning the cabins, removing sails and generally leaving the boat spic and span over the winter, safe in Anders’ warm shed.
It’s all been very satisfactory. We finally homed in on the most effective cleaning products for various areas of the boat, and it’s looking great!
There was even time to strip and service some winches, a really mucky job, with grease and oil in danger of undoing all the fine cleaning efforts from the previous days. Note for the future – service the greasy winches BEFORE cleaning the cockpit.
So now Melodrama is sitting on the hard, waiting for the last TLC before being moved into the shed, and we are heading to Copenhagen Airport, and back to Fahan.
Thanks to all of our readers who have indulged us with your time, and for the comments which all add to our fun.
Rod Stewart Lives!
See you in St Andrews very soon, the Maidstone bunch
We just did the same to Wind Singer, but I suspect not as thoroughly as we did it in one day! There’s always the nagging feeling you left something on board that you shouldn’t have, or forgot to do something important.
Or maybe we were just less efficient. Too much time spent chatting to our neighbours lol.
Wobbly legs ? Look out for WRMcA’s gait ashore, but make allowance for possible sidewinds. Love to both, and safe journey back to Fahan. Hope to see you soon.
