And here at last is our lovely boat!
Ready to sail, with two wheels, and we are just waiting for the wooden bridge down river to open at 13:00.
Richie, our commissioning engineer from Inspiration Marine, had flown out for four days to ensure everything went smoothly, and that (most) things got finished, and he kept us right as we navigated down river.
If there are boats waiting to go either direction, the bridge is wound open by hand by a man in a hat, and we all filed carefully through the middle.
It does not pay to rush ahead before the bridge is fully up, as this photograph from the archives shows!
She looks terrific, and I have rarely seen William with such a big smile!
